“Kings and Queens”/“Light Behind Her Eyes”
My time in the band Home at Last produced a small collection of recordings that consisted mostly of our original songs at the time. Two of those are featured below, with Ernie Trionfo and Bruce Pike on lead vocals.
When I wrote “Kings and Queens,” it was Ernie I heard singing it. The recording below is testament as to why. His delivery is spot-on and the nuances he added provide a dimension beyond the words themselves. In addition to Ernie, the track features Bruce, Charlie Andaloro and me. Copyright: Farinaccio 1987
Kings and Queens
“Light Behind Her Eyes” was written and sung by Bruce. Eventually released in a different version on the band’s 1989 Line by Line album, the song was first recorded by Charlie, Ernie, Bruce and me in an 8-track “home studio” rendition featured below. Copyright: Pike 1989
